Taste for Equity: Cultivate

The Nines, A Luxury Collection Hotel525 Southwest Morrison Street

Join an evening where chefs, winemakers, and farmers come together to share the harvest β€” an evening of food, land, and community unfolding beneath an open sky. Guests will rotate in small groups to taste a dish and wine pairing developed by three chefs and three winemakers from the roster of TASTE's past partners in three different settings around the estate. Then, come together for dessert and celebration during the golden hour program, culminating with dancing under the stars.

Supporting Adelante Mujeres means investing in the Latine community to cultivate opportunity, leadership, and resilience β€” strengthening the roots that help communities rise together. In addition to Adelante Mujeres, proceeds from this year's TASTE for Equity Event Series also benefit two additional powerful Portland organizations: APANO, uniting Asian and Pacific Islanders to build power and advance equity, and ELSO Inc., cultivating generations of innovators and problem solvers for local and global impact.

Party bus transportation from a central location in Portland will be offered to all guests for an additional cost at the time of checkout when you purchase your ticket. Please join and extend the evening of fun, and make sure you get home safely.

Seats are limited, and this event will sell out. If you’ve been to a TASTE event before, you know. If this is your first time β€” welcome. This table was made for you. Tickets are 75-$250 on a sliding scale. Lower-priced tickets are reserved for those working in the F&B service industry.

Ghost Show! The Reading of the TV Pilot

Twilight Theater Company7515 North Brandon Avenue Portland

Ghost Show! is the story of a group of people who have found themselves at the lowest point in their lives β€” making a low-budget ghost hunting show that’s in last place in the local ratings. But an accidental death (is she dead, though?) leads to a boost in engagement…and a whole new set of problems. Filmed both behind the scenes and as in-universe episodes of the show, Ghost Show! is all about failure, found family, and trying to make meaning out of the ghosts of the past β€” and future.

Join the Tiny Park Productions team at Twilight Theater for the launch party of the pilot reading of Ghost Show! Not only will you see and hear the first official reading of the pilot script, but you’ll also get to enjoy fun, spooky-season-themed activities and treats β€” think of it as a theatrical carnival.

There will also be a costume contest with Door Prizes, so Halloween costumes are encouraged.

Tickets include a free raffle ticket. Prizes include real ghost-hunting gear.

Home Sweet Home: Ashley Anson

One Grand Gallery1000 East Burnside Street

One Grand Gallery is delighted to welcome back Portland-based Ashley Anson for her second solo exhibition with the gallery. Home Sweet Home expounds on Anson’s fondness for found textiles and materials and processes historically associated with feminine domestic labor. Drawing on traditionally gendered art forms such as quilting and embroidery, she combines textiles with painting and small sculpture to create narratives about the unseen worlds within people’s homes. Home is central to her work, a place that can hold peace, chaos, and danger all at once.

Anson transforms personal family folklore into layered narratives, exploring how stories imagined in childhood are remembered, exaggerated, and reinterpreted across generations. Her work also examines gender roles in art, asking what gives a painting masculine or feminine attributes and whether an artist’s gender can be sensed in the work. By combining the historically male-dominated practice of painting with embroidery and textiles, she challenges conventional distinctions between artistic mediums.

Join the opening reception on Friday, Oct. 30 from 6- 9 p.m. In the spirit of the Halloween season, the opening will transition into a party as the evening approaches. Costumes are strongly encouraged.

One vineyard. Many expressions. An evening among friends.

Be part of the first gathering of six esteemed wineries united by one extraordinary site, La Belle Promenade Vineyard. FlΓ’neur Wines, Patricia Green Cellars, Hazelfern Cellars, Suzor Wines, Martin Woods Winery, and Las Jaras Wines will share more than 10 distinct expressions of La Belle Promenade Vineyard, spanning Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, sparkling wine, Pinot Meunier and AligotΓ©.

The gathering comes at a moment of growing recognition for the vineyard. Wines from La Belle Promenade have earned critical acclaim, including a first-place ranking among Chardonnays for a wine grown entirely from the site at The 1976 Redo international blind tasting.

The evening will unfold as an intimate, cocktail-style tasting for just 65 guests, with winemakers and winery teams pouring their wines, sharing stories, and offering their unique perspectives on the vineyard through relaxed conversation.

Our friends at Haywardβ€”named one of The New York Times’ 2026 America’s Best Restaurants and recognized by the James Beard Foundationβ€”will bring their signature seasonal cooking to an abundant, Friendsgiving-inspired spread. Rather than a seated dinner, expect a festive experience designed for grazing gathering. Think a little retro holiday party, a little harvest feast, and very Hayward.

Pop-up: Anthony Hudson

Anthony Hudson reads from his new collection of performance works Lamp Black: Plays and Other Grievances at Portland Art Museum in the American Art gallery (Level 2, Room 211), paired with Moses Soyer, Girl with a Cigarette.

Followed by book signing at The Shop at PAM.

About Lamp Black:

A major collection of performance works by artist and agitator Anthony Hudson.

Lamp Back: Plays and Other Grievances collects nearly a decade of work by Anthony Hudson, a queer Indigenous artist and agitator also known as Portland, Oregon’s premier drag clown, Carla Rossi. Whether fumbling with a lamp in a satirical takedown of land acknowledgments or confronting the history of redface in pop culture, Hudson alternates between Rossi’s cackling β€œghost of white privilege” and more earnest, vulnerable confessionals as himselfβ€”all with a deep commitment to bitter humor and brutal honesty. In these performance works, a mixed-race Native boy plays a pilgrim in his kindergarten Thanksgiving pageant. A young artist recounts the racism in their favorite musical and the larger American theater system. A drag queen storytime goes disastrously wrong and calls for an exorcism with a plunger. Kate Bredeson’s unflinching introduction speaks to Hudson’s work through a cultural and historical lens and illuminates the importance of his project to filet the American Empire.

Together, they enlisted the help of their fellow Pee-wee afficionados, prolific publisher and dynamic graphic artist, Jared Prophet, the noted artist, deejay, and event creator, Matt Stanger, and The Photobooth Chick, herself, Jocelyn Dean. Together, this dynamic team has whipped together a frothy day of pure fandom fun - get your Pee-wee Pub Crawl tickets today!

Umbrae Noctis: A Darkly Decadent Burlesque Festival

The Coffin Club421 Southeast Grand Avenue

Knowing that there is beauty to be found in the shadows of the night, Natasha Riot, the producer of the monthly show Burlynomicon, called the coven together to create a weekend-long festival to celebrate all things dark and decadent and on the fringes...and thus the Umbrae Noctis Festival was born.

Now in its 3rd year, you will find gloriously ghoulish drag and burlesque performances that will transfix your senses all weekend, all set to the feelings and sounds of darkwave, post-punk, goth, deathrock and punk. Artists from all walks of life and from all parts of the world will gather to share their beauty with you, including 2026 Saturday night headliner Throb Zombie with performances that will leave you breathless.

Please see the website for each night's cast.

FULL SPECTRUM Immersive Art Exhibition: Opening Night Party!

FULL SPECTRUM is a group exhibition of Portland XR artists at Daydreamer Coffee and Public House in St. Johns, opening November 7 and running through the holidays. The framing: just as a prism reveals the colors hidden inside light, these artists use immersive technology to surface the hidden layers of the human heart. Visitors explore the work through phones, VR headsets, and AR glasses, so the show is as much about the viewing apparatus as it is about the images. The organizers treat technology as a way to amplify human expression rather than replace it, and the exhibition doubles as a growth effort for the Portland immersive community. Sponsored by Specs and the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication Reality Lab in Portland. Opening night party at 7315 N Fessenden S https://luma.com/7v1f7buz
