The Pancakes and Booze Art Show

Come experience one of the largest pop-up art movements to hit North America over the past decade. Celebrating over 15 years of serving free pancakes and introducing you to some of the nation's leading emerging artists. The LA-based event originated in 2009 and has since popped up more than 500 times in 35+ cities around Europe and North America.

Batter sizzles, beer foams, and canvas lines the walls from ceiling to floor as hundreds, sometimes thousands, of revelers indulge in endless pancakes.

This is no stuffy wine-and-cheese, pretentious, someone-gag-me art event. It’s an innovative reimagining of the art show concept. A welcoming vibe for up-and-coming artists to sell and strut their stuff in a free-verse, anything-goes environment.

Whether for audiences large or small, David is known for his visceral yet polished style of playing, and consistently delivers captivating performances of traditional and contemporary classical guitar. David is also on faculty at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City where he is the professor of classical guitar. We anticipate being very busy—reservations are strongly recommended.

Verboort Sausage Festival

  • Organizer: Cameron Bennett
  • Schedule: Meet at 8am, ride at 8:30am
  • Ride Length: 15+ miles
  • End Location: The scheduled portion of the ride will end at the sausage fest. Stick with the group to roll to the Hatfield (Hillsboro) MAX station after dinner, or ride home when you've had enough to eat and drink.
  • Location Details: Meet under the picnic shelter by the basketball courts
  • Audience: Adults (21+)

Would you ride in the rain for all-you-can-eat bratwurst? Let's enjoy some rolling (and likely rainy) miles to Verboort; the all-you-can eat dinner tastes way better if you ride there!

GETTING THERE
Meet at the Wallace Park picnic shelter near the basketball courts. Gather at 8am, departing at 8:30am - can't be too late to dinner. Pace will be spirited enough to stay warm but slow enough to not show up too sweaty. There will be a few regroup/snack breaks at the top of the climbs, as shown on the route.

THE ROUTE
Please be aware that there are some significant hills on this route, and we will be far from TriMet service at times. While this is a no-drop ride, you are expected to be self-sufficient! Bring enough layers and calories to keep yourself happy and healthy for the conditions. There are short sections of busy roads on route, but it is generally pretty low-traffic. There is a short section of gravel since it's the nicest way to get over the hill; you will be able to ride it on any type of bike.

Bring a lock, lights, rain gear, and some cash! Fenders are appreciated :)

THE SAUSAGE FESTIVAL
Dinner is $23, and there will be a wait to eat after we arrive. Luckily, there's a beer garden to pass the time in... There will be sauerkraut and sausage for sale. Make sure you've got the stomach and cargo capacity to take advantage of it all!

https://www.verboort.org/dinner

GETTING HOME
Worried about riding home? ...trust us, the MAX is the better option. We'll roll out as a group and keep the pace easy on our full tummies.

Each team will be responsible for recording their own scores and turning them in. The winning teams of each machine will be determined by the highest combined score of everyone on the team, and teams will receive points based on how they placed. (4 points for 1st place, 2 points for 2nd place, 1 point for 3rd place) The winning teams for the whole event will be determined by which team has the most points after all the rounds. Each member of the winning teams receives prizes ranging from gift cards to free pinball wristbands to some of our merch!

Tournaments are open to people of all skill levels. We have some of the best players in the country here, as well as many new people getting into the hobby for the first time! It's a great way to improve your skills as well as meet friendly and fun people in the community!

After each tournament is concluded, the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive points that will go towards picking an overall Pinny Cup winner that will receive a grand prize and a place in the Pinny Cup Hall of Fame.

There is no entry fee for the tournament, but players are required to purchase an unlimited pinball wristband for $12.

*Please note that the tournament is subject to slight modifications depending on attendance and machine availability. We may modify a tournament to have different group sizes or edit the number of rounds to ensure substantial tournament lengths.*

Ball Save Social Club Pinball Tournament

Introducing a new beginner-friendly monthly pinball tournament: Ball Save Social Club! Monthly on first Wednesdays.

The goal is to keep BSSC a casual space that boosts new players and further helps build the community. It’s also a place to highlight the skilled players in our community that are willing to share the secrets and take on a challenge. The tournament starts at 7:00 pm however if you are there at 6:00 pm and are a newer or lower skilled player the TD can find a higher skilled player to play some games with you to either teach rules or flipper skills.

Getting wrecked constantly can be exhausting and discouraging. So the difference with BSSC and other tournaments is the introduction of a handicap system. Inspired by bowling leagues and golf tournaments to help even the playing field and make it more fair. The format will be 4 games of a matchplay format with a one game final for the top 4.

Handicaps will be determined by player ratings in MatchPlay. Handicaps will be a percentage taken off of your score at the end of the game.

Expert: 40% off
A: 30% off
B: 15% off
C: 0% off
D, E and unrated: 0% off and can play one extra ball

Example with a score of 1,304, 216,800 this is what would count
Expert: 782,530,080 (1,304, 216,800 × 0.6)
A: 912,951,760 (1,304, 216,800 x 0.7)
B: 1,108,584,280 (1,304,216,800 x 0.85)
C: 1,304,216,800
D, E and unrated: 1,304,216,800 (plus an extra ball)

Sometimes an experimental format may happen!
