Sound Bath Experience on the Farm

ChamBurn Farm LLC20925 S Nursery Ln

As autumn settles more deeply into the land, join a cozy evening at ChamBurn Farm in Oregon City, just 20 minutes south of Portland. Begin with a short tour of the beautifully designed farm, then warm up with hot cider and a seasonal snack provided by chef Jim of ChamBurn Farm.

Under a large covered outdoor patio complete with a fire burning in the fireplace, Angela of Breathe Yoga will open the evening's practice with a grounding, inviting you to settle into your body, connect with the earth beneath you, and arrive fully in the moment. Then, Gabrielle of Hearthsounds Sound Healing will guide you into a 75-minute immersive sound bath. Singing bowls, gong, chimes, and other instruments will surround you in layers of sound and vibration, blending with the natural sounds of the farm: the crackle of the fire, the rustling of the evening air, and the occasional call of an animal.

November invites one to slow down. The harvest has been gathered, the landscape is changing, and nature is gradually becoming quieter. This evening is an opportunity to follow that rhythm, settle into stillness, and simply receive.

Slow Shapes & Softening for Creative Joy

Emily Wright

Join Emily Wright for a special offering that will weave together gentle postures, meditation and creative practice to unwind tension, tend to fatigue, and brighten intuitive, creative force. The practice will include yin yoga, yoga nidra, and a lightly guided, silent painting meditation. All levels and backgrounds are welcome.

$25 – the practice + all creative supplies

$55 – the practice, all creative supplies + a bottle of fine, natural scent, 5 ml roll-on. This special scent crafted by artist Catherine Haley Epstein blends natural, high-quality extracts of cedar, violet and apricot for a light, peace-inspiring aroma. A lovely add on to any restorative or creative practice.

The practice of Yoga Nidra is thousands of years old yet immensely relevant to our time. A systematic process of deliberate relaxation that combines breath, body-scan and imagery-based techniques to serve as a powerful antidote to overstimulation, burnout and exhaustion.

Yoga Nidra is an accessible go-to practice in any wellness toolkit for sharpening cognition, bolstering creativity and promoting a healthy response to stress. Through a 20-minute practice, studies have shown that it improves neuroplasticity, resets dopamine levels and supports healthy central nervous system regulation.

Additionally, its ancient wisdom undeniably invites in a deeper knowing of the soul. This more spiritual angle empowers a release of fear and unwanted habits and enables new alignment to authenticity, freedom and heart.

Embodied Insight: Psychology & Yogic Philosophy in Practice

Embodied Insight: Psychology & Yogic Philosophy in Practice with Giovanna Cafaro A monthly 2 hour offering blending yogic philosophy, mental health psychology, and movement through an experiential practice centered around a new theme each month. November Theme : Compassion: Meeting yourself with kindness Sign Up Sunday, November 22, 2026 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM Sliding Scale: $15-$40 View Full Detail This 2 hour offering integrates yogic philosophy and mental health psychology into a grounded, experiential practice. Each session begins with a short talk and/ or journal prompts exploring themes each month related to self-understanding, relationships, and the human experience, followed by guided movement to embody these ideas, and closes with space for reflection and integration. The intention is to support insight, connection, and a more compassionate relationship with yourself. What to Expect Each session follows a consistent arc while exploring a new monthly theme: Opening grounding practice A short dharma talk integrating principles of psychology and yogic philosophy Optional journal prompts with guided discussion and reflection An intentional movement practice designed to embody the theme Breathwork and/or meditation Time for integration and closing reflection The emphasis is on creating an experience that is both intellectually engaging and personally meaningful, offering participants the opportunity to connect insight with embodied practice. Key Takeaways Participants will leave with: A deeper understanding of themselves through both psychological and yogic perspectives. Practical and applicable takeaways to integrate into daily living. Embodied practices that support nervous system regulation, resilience, and self-compassion. Reflection prompts and themes to continue exploring beyond class. A greater sense of connection to themselves and to a supportive community of practice. No prior experience with yoga philosophy or psychology is necessary. Instructor Giovanna (she/her) believes yoga is an invitation to connect to self by embodying curiosity, compassion, and presence. She views yoga practice as a lifelong exploration of what it means to be human: navigating change, embracing uncertainty, finding meaning, and cultivating a more authentic relationship to ourselves, others, and the world around us. She first discovered yoga in 2010 while living in New York City. Yoga became a space that offered a sense of grounding amidst the constant movement of city life. After moving to Portland in 2016, yoga became an anchor through transition and a pathway to community. Over the years, her practice has expanded beyond asana into meditation, breathwork, philosophy, mantra, and self-inquiry. Embodying yogic practice in this way continues to shape both her life and the way she shares yoga with others. Giovanna has completed a 300-hour trauma-informed yoga teacher training and is currently earning her master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling. Her guiding is deeply influenced by both yogic philosophy and existential psychology, and she loves exploring the places where these traditions naturally intersect. Each class is thoughtfully woven around a theme inspired by yoga philosophy, anatomy, and the shared human experience. You can expect authenticity, intentional movement, moments of reflection, a thoughtful soundtrack, humor, and an open heart from Giovanna. Her hope is that students leave class feeling a little more grounded, a little more connected, and with a deeper trust in their own inner wisdom. She is grateful to all her teachers and guides: Audra Carmine, Manorama, Christina Sell, Nancy Nomellini, and Chauna Bryant for all their incredible and deep wisdom. Upcoming Fall 2026 AI Toolkit Lineup Demystifying AI: Intro to AI (Part 1)

Foundations for Everyday Use

Kick off the series by stripping away the tech jargon and discovering how artificial intelligence can simplify your day-to-day life. This foundational session introduces core AI concepts and terminology—including AI summarizers, generative chatbots, and natural prompting—in clear, approachable language. Through live demonstrations of Claude AI, Microsoft Copilot, and ChatGPT, you will learn how to safely use these tools to brainstorm recipes, plan custom travel itineraries, and organize daily tasks. We will introduce the essential "Ask–Tweak–Verify" (ATV) framework alongside critical privacy guidelines to ensure you protect your personal data right from the start.

One-on-one lab assistance is proudly provided by student volunteers from the Lake Youth Leadership Council to help you configure settings on your personal devices.

Date / Time: Tuesday, September 15 | 2:00–3:30 p.m.
Class Number: 34825

Demystifying AI: Chatbot Practice (Part 2)

Hands-On Skills and Sandbox Practice

Build directly upon your foundational knowledge with a supportive, highly interactive sandbox session dedicated to mastering digital assistants. In Part 2, participants shift from watching demonstrations to writing and refining their own prompts. Under patient guidance, you will practice conversational techniques, discover how subtle shifts in word choices yield dramatically improved answers, and learn how to implement standard internet safety boundaries. A major focus of this workshop will be learning how to cross-reference and fact-check chatbot output to ensure your digital interactions remain secure, accurate, and productive.

Personalized, one-on-one tech support will be provided throughout the hands-on practice intervals by members of the Lake Youth Leadership Council.

Date / Time: Tuesday, October 20 | 2:00–3:30 p.m.
Class Number: 34826

AI as an Accessibility & Information Tool

Helping Seniors Navigate Daily Life With Confidence

Discover how contemporary AI applications can serve as powerful tools for independent living, lifelong learning, and daily problem-solving. This interactive workshop demonstrates practical accessibility functions hidden inside everyday tech, such as instant text-to-speech audio conversion, natural voice-command interactions, and real-time smartphone image recognition (perfect for reading small labels or identifying objects). Moving into deeper research skills, we will outline advanced prompting methods while unpacking the distinct structural limits of large language models. Learn exactly why AI should never replace professional advisory services, and discover specific strategies for spotting online medical misinformation.

Personalized, one-on-one tech support will be provided throughout the hands-on practice intervals by members of the Lake Youth Leadership Council.

Date / Time: Tuesday, November 17 | 2:00–3:30 p.m.
Class Number: 34827

AI Safety, Fact Checking & Avoiding Misinformation

Becoming a Confident, Critical AI User

The final installation equips you with an essential digital defense toolkit to evaluate whether online content is authentic, accurate, and trustworthy. We will break down common system errors, reveal how "hallucinations" occur, and introduce quick, library-approved methods for verifying data across independent sources. Crucially, this session helps participants recognize how malicious actors deploy technology for modern fraudulent schemes—including cloning voices for identity scams, fabricating hyper-realistic deepfakes, and pushing complex cryptocurrency traps. Leave with the confidence and critical awareness needed to enjoy modern digital conveniences safely and securely.

Personalized, one-on-one tech support will be provided throughout the hands-on practice intervals by members of the Lake Youth Leadership Council.

Date / Time: Tuesday, December 15 | 2:00–3:30 p.m.
Class Number: 34828

ARTHACK @ ADX

PortlandMap

ARTHACK is a monthly evening of discussion for computer enthusiasts and artists, hosted at ADX in Southeast Portland. The group talks about and shares work that explores the intersection of code, art, hardware, and society -- generative work, creative coding, physical computing, hardware hacking, net art, and the social questions that come with all of it. Bring a laptop and you can share something on the open projector: works in progress, experiments, failures, and half-finished ideas are all welcome alongside finished pieces. No experience with either art or code is required, and there is no formal program -- it is an informal, conversation-driven night for people who like making things with computers. Free and open to all. ADX is at 417 SE 11th Avenue, Portland. https://artdesignxchange.com/events/arthack-mtd89-53dw5
