Martin Luther King Jr. Day Cleanup & Community Gathering Martin Luther King Jr. Day was established as a national day of service, inspired by Dr. King’s belief that everyone has the power - and the responsibility - to uplift their community. We’re carrying that spirit forward with an MLK Day cleanup at Irving Park and the surrounding neighborhood, paired with a community gathering after the event to enjoy snacks and warm beverages. Every piece you collect helps keep our parks welcoming, strengthens our local recycling stream, and prevents waste from entering our waterways.
