About this event

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

Experience the remarkable story of Ignacio Villa, one of the most original and influential artists in 20th-century Cuban music. Through evocative puppetry and rich music, audiences follow a poor Black boy in Cuba as he dares to dream of a bigger life. Encouraged by renowned singer Rita Montaner, and inspired by Yoruba Orishas, Ignacio overcomes remarkable adversity on his path to becoming the globally-celebrated musician known as Bola de Nieve. An intimate and inspiring story of courage, resilience, and cultural pride, Un Piano para Ignacio reminds us that talent and perseverance can forge new paths to a boundless world.
