Un Piano para Ignacio

A young Bola de Nieve dares to defy limitations.

Un Piano para Ignacio brings to life the remarkable story of Ignacio Villa, one of the most original and influential artists in 20th-century Cuban music. Through evocative puppetry and a richly musical world, the play follows young Ignacio, a poor Black boy in Cuba, as he dares to dream beyond the limits placed upon him. Audiences journey with Ignacio from the early emergence of his extraordinary musical gifts through the struggles and triumphs that shaped him into a globally celebrated pianist and singer guided by Yoruba Orishas. At once intimate and inspiring, Un Piano para Ignacio is a story of courage, resilience, cultural pride, and the transformative power of music, reminding us that talent and perseverance can forge new paths to a boundless world, even in the face of remarkable adversity.
