About this event
Get ready for a poignant new play from a.k. payne, an emerging voice in American theatre. Her play, Furlough’s Paradise, brings together cousins Sade and Mina, whose lives have taken different paths. They return home for a funeral, Sade on a prison furlough and Mina taking a break from her successful West Coast career. It’s a powerful setup.
As the clock ticks, these women grapple with conflicting memories, shared hopes, and the very meaning of home, love, and kinship. This poetic and theatrical piece, directed by Kristolyn Lloyd, explores familial dreams of a utopia yet to be realized. Don’t miss this one!
