What Will We Do Without Exile?

Ready for an immersive experience that really makes you think? Basel Zaraa, a Palestinian artist from the UK, brings his multi-sensory installation What Will We Do Without Exile? to Portland. This unique piece transports you inside a refugee tent, creating a lush world where you can imagine a future beyond occupation. You’ll sit among orange and olive trees, listening to a soundscape and reading a newspaper from a liberated land.

Inspired by the refusal to stop imagining tomorrow, even in the face of genocide, Zaraa celebrates Palestine’s natural and cultural richness. It’s a powerful tribute to the strength and sacrifice of colonized people. His work has toured five continents. Come envision a world of liberation.
