About this event

Beautiful. Loud. Charismatic. Troublesome. People have lots of opinions about crows, but one thing is certain: There is no bird as well known or as often noticed in Portland as the American Crow. Brodie Cass Talbott will share about what makes the American Crow such a unique bird, from its exceptional intelligence to its incredible winter congregations in downtown Portland, and how to be good neighbors to the ultimate urban animal. Register to reserve your spot. Here are just a few of the topics being covered:

  • What’s with crows dunking their food in bird baths before eating it?
  • What’s behind those enormous flocks of crows commuting across the sky at sunrise and sunset?
  • If I start leaving snacks out for crows, might they repay me with a few treasures?
  • Why do crows seem determined to rip up the grass in yards?
  • What makes crows such clever birds, and how do they put all that brainpower to use?

You’ll learn all that and more at this special edition of Nature Night.
