That 1 Guy

That 1 Guy is the solo project of Mike Silverman, a classically trained bassist who built his own instruments to expand what one musician can do onstage. His signature creation, the seven-foot Magic Pipe, combines bass strings, percussion and electronic triggers.

Silverman builds his live sets with looping, beatboxing, musical saw and vocals, creating an offbeat mix of experimental music, funk and rock. He has also collaborated with avant-garde guitarist Buckethead and played bass and saw on Tom Waits' Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers & Bastards.
