Remembrance for Rebecca Hufford

Wednesday, December 9, 2026, 3:30 – 5pm This is an opportunity to remember part-time career services specialist Rebecca Hufford, who passed away Oct. 28. She joined the college in December 2022 and was also a member of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, and could often be seen volunteering her time tabling for the college at many events throughout the year. Her friends and co-workers in Student Services and Student Life will remember Rebecca for her kindness, humor, colorful personality and passionate advocacy for others. She was known for forming genuine connections with students, many of whom returned to the Career Center long after the first appointments because they trusted Rebecca and enjoyed visiting with her. She was always willing to help someone navigate a difficult employment situation, and she never hesitated to stand up for a student who needed an advocate. She believed in showing up for people and making sure everyone felt welcome and supported. Career Services Coordinator Christina Shepherd shared, “She also brought so much laughter, warmth and character to our office. She loved sharing snacks, telling stories and connecting with people.
