About this event
Amy Beach’s Gaelic Symphony and George Walker’s Folksongs treat traditional melodies as symphonic material. Copeland’s Variations on a Shaker Melody refracts simple faith-song into brilliant transformations, and Elizondo’s Estampas Mexicanas delivers vivid, dance-like snapshots of Mexican musical life.
