About this event

Volunteer Opportunity This is a great opportunity to get outside, get your hands dirty and make a visible difference in your community in just a few hours. About the Program Our mission is to foster safe, clean, and vibrant public spaces where all community members can gather, play, and connect. Columbia Park serves thousands of Portland residents — families, kids, seniors, and dog walkers alike. Every bag of litter removed and every invasive weed pulled directly contributes to a healthier, more accessible park for everyone. Volunteers are the engine behind this work — without them, it simply doesn't happen. About the Project Have you ever walked through a park and wished it looked a little more loved? Columbia Park is a beloved green space in North Portland — but like any public park, it needs regular care to stay beautiful and welcoming for everyone who calls this neighborhood home. Join us for a hands-on park cleanup at Columbia Park in North Portland! Volunteers will work alongside neighbors and community members to restore and beautify this treasured public space. This is a great opportunity to get outside, get your hands dirty (literally!), and make a visible difference in your community in just a few hours. What volunteers will be doing: Picking up litter and debris throughout the park grounds, trails, and surrounding areas No experience necessary; just bring your energy and willingness to work! We're looking for volunteers who are: Enthusiastic and ready to work outdoors Comfortable with light physical activity Reliable and able to stay for the duration of the event Friendly and community-minded Project Requirements Requirements Age: Volunteers must be 3+; under 14 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone. If you plan to bring your children or other guests to the event, you MUST reserve slots for them. The best way to do this is to create a Volunteer Team. You can then sign up your team for this project. All volunteers under 18 are required to bring a waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian. Please download, complete, and bring this waiver with you on the day of the project: Youth Volunteer Release Form Training: Brief on‑site orientation provided at shift start. Tools, trash bags, and supplies will be provided. Please bring/wear: -Closed-toe shoes (required — no sandals or flip-flops) -Work gloves (we'll have extras, but bringing your own is encouraged) -Weather-appropriate clothing you don't mind getting dirty -Water bottle — stay hydrated! -Sunscreen and a hat if it's sunny
