About this event

Volunteer Opportunity Help improve habitat at this important natural area that Pendleton Creek runs through About the Program The Westside Watershed Resource Center inspires action and awareness on behalf of watershed health. By participating in this restoration event, volunteers will directly support this mission through hands-on service that improves the health of the Fanno Creek watershed, while learning how English ivy and other introduced species impact native ecosystems and watershed health. About the Project Join the Portland Jewish Federation of Greater Portland and Westside Watershed Resource Center to help improve habitat at this important natural area that Pendleton Creek runs through. Next to Cedar Sinai Park, Portland's only Jewish senior living facility, is a network of trails. These trails, enjoyed by senior residents and neighbors, are in need of clean up and regular maintenance. The Jewish Federation of Greater Portland has formed a volunteer clean-up crew to meet on a regular basis to keep the trails clear of trash and debris, remove invasive ivy, and restore parts of the trail affected by graffiti. These short work parties will have a major cumulative impact! We will be working on uneven ground, so please wear closed toed, sturdy shoes and weather appropriate clothing. Tools, gloves, and instruction will be provided. Ages: Children 10+ are welcome, if accompanied by an attentive adult. Youth 16+ may attend independently with parent permission. Accessibility: This event will require bending over and walking on uneven surfaces. Questions? For more information, please contact Seth Healy at [email protected] or 503-865-6759. →Register here: https://jewishportland.org/al-lewin-legacy-trail-clean-up-crew Project Requirements Requirements Volunteers must be 10 years of age or older to participate in this opportunity; any volunteer under age 16 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.
