About this event
Volunteer Opportunity Help bring holiday cheer to kids in care and their families. About the Program The ODHS mission is to help Oregonians in their own communities achieve well-being and independence through opportunities that protect, empower, respect choice, and preserve dignity. About the Project ODHS Washington County hosts holiday parties for our kids in care as a way to create positive memories for our kids with their biological parents. The Holiday Party will be full of fun activities, gifts, and food! The holiday party comes with gift selecting and wrapping for the parents, families will get to take holiday photos with their parents, decorating cookies, a craft activity table, and more. The party is divided into two shifts, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The party will have around 150 participants each shift, so it will be quite crowded. Volunteers will help with food serving, helping parents with toy selection, gift wrapping, crowd control, child supervision, helping with activities, helping families take photos, etc. After both shifts of the parties ended, we will need help with event break down/clean up as well. Volunteers can learn about event planning, how the agency support vulnerable families and children with holiday time activities and resources. There are two shift options to choose from: First shift - 10:30am - 1:00pm Second shift - 2:15pm - 5pm Project Requirements Requirements Age: Volunteers must be 15+; under 18 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.
