About this event
I'm excited to make a stop on my tour this holiday season back at my alma mater. On December 4 I'll be on stage playing Vince Guaraldi's A Charlie Brown Christmas the way it was written: as jazz, with horn on top. "Linus and Lucy," "Christmas Time Is Here," "Skating," and then we open the night up into the carols everybody in the room already knows. And I'm bringing an incredible, legendary band — the best Portland has ever produced: Ron Steen — drums Dan Balmer — guitar Steve Christofferson — piano Ed Bennett — bass These are the players who defined jazz in this city for decades. One stage, one night, all of them together. Joining us: the award-winning Portland Symphonic Girlchoir — twice winners of the Chorus America/ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming and finalists in the 2026 American Prize. Young voices on that stage aren't decoration for this show. They're the argument. Hosting the evening: Steve Dunn of KATU. Every dollar of ticket proceeds goes to Bridge Meadows — building communities where children, families, and elders flourish together. @bridgemeadows This night happens because of the people who stepped up: Presenting Sponsor — Pacific Lifestyle Homes · Building Better Lives Venue Underwriter — Mt.
