Front Gallery – a solo exhibition by Lettie Jane RennekampCenter Gallery – Gardenesque, an exhibition by The ReprinteryA joint reception will be held on Thursday, October 29 from 6-8 p.m. Lettie Jane Rennekamp presents a new body of work including paintings, drawings, and sculpture. “I’ve been exploring expression and facial recognition. By mixing stylized eyes with texture and shape, I’ve created fragmented humans,” Rennekamp shares. “This work feels like an attempt to hold myself and my humanity amidst an avalanche of information. I’ve added rhythmic patterns to represent the places I can weave my agency. My use of abstraction represents all the elements of life we don’t have control over.” Rennekamp is known regionally and nationally for mural work with clients such as the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI), the Portland Airport, and the City of Tigard. They also co-own and teach at Ulna Art Studio with Jolyn Fry and Cole Lyons. The Reprintery, a collaborative project between artists Charlotte Flory and Michelle Freedman, will present Gardenesque, a collection of new textile works examining women’s histories.
