Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto

Experience one of the most exhilarating, rapturous, and color-saturated journeys in all orchestral music: Scriabin’s life-affirming The Poem of Ecstasy, paired with Tchaikovsky’s resplendent Violin Concerto featuring 2019 Queen Elisabeth Competition winner Stella Chen. Two pieces by Mussorgsky round out this technicolor program—the evocative sunrise over the Moscow River from the opera Khovanshchina, and the favorite Night on Bald Mountain, made famous by Disney’s classic Fantasia.

• Stella Chen Violin

• MUSSORGSKY Prelude to Khovanshchina, “Dawn on the Moscow River”
• TCHAIKOVSKY Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35
• MUSSORGSKY Night on Bald Mountain
• SCRIABIN The Poem of Ecstasy, Op. 54

Please note that the concert time for the performance on Saturday, June 12, has changed from 7:30PM to 2PM.
