About this event
The musical splits Nina Simone across the stages of her life, from a church piano bench in North Carolina to concert halls, and to the civil rights platforms where she refused to separate the artist from the activist.
The song list carries the argument. David Grapes and Robert Neblett wrote it, Patdro Harris directs, and Portland Playhouse closes its season with it.
