What’s Up Doc? (1972) – 35mm

Portland Art Museum1219 Southwest Park Avenue

Join Film School x PAM CUT @ The Whitsell for What’s Up, Doc (1972) in 35mm. The 1972 screwball comedy, starring Barbra Streisand and Ryan O’Neal, follows a wild and eccentric mix-up of plaid luggage through 70’s San Francisco. This portrait is tailored to showcase Barbra Streisand’s unique and distinct comedic persona and the chaotic magnetism she brings to the screen—echoing the screwball heroines that came before her.

Film School is a community film club hosting monthly screenings, discussions, and a blog. They celebrate cinema, spark conversation, and connect film lovers—on and off the screen.

What’s Up, Doc? (1972) Directed by Peter Bogdanovich. 1hr 34min. Rated G. 35mm.

Been wanting to visit the Portland art museum? Come join us for their first Thursday free admission.

Location: Portland Art Museum. As part of First Thursday the art museum has free admission up til 7pm! We will be meeting at 5:30 and at 7 when the venue closes we will wander down to the cheerful tortoise for those who want to keep the meet and greet going!

RSVP: Please keep your RSVP updated. When you arrive please sign in. We do count no shows and remove people who no show more than 3 times.

  • The first 20 people to RSVP will go straight to the 'going' list, and after that everyone will go on a waitlist. I'll move some people over from the waitlist, with a priority going to people who will help balance the gender ratio, haven't no-showed before, are fun/friendly regulars, etc. (Paying for the Meetup+ thing doesn't actually do anything to prioritize you on this kind of waitlist, FYI.)

Verboort Sausage Festival

  • Organizer: Cameron Bennett
  • Schedule: Meet at 8am, ride at 8:30am
  • Ride Length: 15+ miles
  • End Location: The scheduled portion of the ride will end at the sausage fest. Stick with the group to roll to the Hatfield (Hillsboro) MAX station after dinner, or ride home when you've had enough to eat and drink.
  • Location Details: Meet under the picnic shelter by the basketball courts
  • Audience: Adults (21+)

Would you ride in the rain for all-you-can-eat bratwurst? Let's enjoy some rolling (and likely rainy) miles to Verboort; the all-you-can eat dinner tastes way better if you ride there!

GETTING THERE
Meet at the Wallace Park picnic shelter near the basketball courts. Gather at 8am, departing at 8:30am - can't be too late to dinner. Pace will be spirited enough to stay warm but slow enough to not show up too sweaty. There will be a few regroup/snack breaks at the top of the climbs, as shown on the route.

THE ROUTE
Please be aware that there are some significant hills on this route, and we will be far from TriMet service at times. While this is a no-drop ride, you are expected to be self-sufficient! Bring enough layers and calories to keep yourself happy and healthy for the conditions. There are short sections of busy roads on route, but it is generally pretty low-traffic. There is a short section of gravel since it's the nicest way to get over the hill; you will be able to ride it on any type of bike.

Bring a lock, lights, rain gear, and some cash! Fenders are appreciated :)

THE SAUSAGE FESTIVAL
Dinner is $23, and there will be a wait to eat after we arrive. Luckily, there's a beer garden to pass the time in... There will be sauerkraut and sausage for sale. Make sure you've got the stomach and cargo capacity to take advantage of it all!

https://www.verboort.org/dinner

GETTING HOME
Worried about riding home? ...trust us, the MAX is the better option. We'll roll out as a group and keep the pace easy on our full tummies.

Constellations Community Circle

Creating community through deep listening & sharing conversation

The intention of Constellations is to co-create a welcoming, safe and intimate environment for talking and sharing, and to practice deep listening to one another… to hold space.

Each meeting will be centered around a prompt (our “North Star”) as an invitation to practice thoughtful communication and quiet space-holding. Together we'll build a sacred and sweet community. New participants are welcome.

We have room for new members to join our monthly circle!

What to expect/ the flow of each session: We will begin in a circle, most likely sitting on the floor for the duration (but we do have a couple of chairs). The topic will be introduced, we’ll share our names. We will have moments of quiet threaded throughout the experience, to invite a sense of spaciousness and absorption. Individuals will not be required to speak but will be encouraged to do so. There will be an emphasis on active listening and reflecting, we will not be giving each other advice or going down long personal explorations. In fact, we will keep our contributions short so that everyone has time to share as desired. Each session will end with a closing ceremony of a guided mediation or yoga nidra.

Sliding scale $10-30
After you sign up and before our meeting you will receive an email with prompt for inspiration for contemplation. You are encouraged to join each session but are not required to do so.

OJMCHE Book Club

Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education724 Northwest Davis Street

OJMCHE’s book club meets every other month midday at the museum. The book selection for November 2026 is The Mathematician’s Shiva by Stuart Rojstaczer.

Stuart Rojstaczer’s The Mathematician’s Shiva is a humorous, bittersweet debut novel about family that brilliantly captures humanity’s drive to not only survive, but to solve the impossible.

Alexander “Sasha” Karnokovitch and his family would like to mourn the passing of his mother, Rachela, with modesty and dignity. But Rachela, a famous Polish émigré mathematician and professor at the University of Wisconsin, is rumored to have solved the million-dollar Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize problem. Rumor also has it that she took the solution to her grave out of spite. To Sasha’s chagrin, a ragtag group of socially challenged mathematicians arrives in Madison and crashes the shiva, vowing to do whatever it takes to find the solution — even if it means prying up the floorboards for Rachela’s notes.

For fans of The Yiddish Policemen’s Union and Everything Is Illuminated.

Tier One Adventurers League with Malachi

Welcome, adventurers! Adventurers League is open-play Dungeons and Dragons. No matter your experience level, we encourage you to sign up for a session! AL is designed for you to be able to join any session without needing the context of a full campaign. It's a great way to get started if you're new, or to fit some more D&D into your life amidst your regular campaigns if you're more experienced. If you’re new, please check out our free Learn to Play DND table! This event is aimed at ages 15 and up, or 12-14 with a guardian attending. This event will use the 2024 Player's Handbook rules. Please refresh yourself on the AL Player's Guide before attending so the game can launch in a timely manner. Please create a Tier One character beforehand. We highly encourage you sign up in advance. If you have any questions, reach out to @Mox_Malachi in our Discord server! Not in our Discord server? Click here to join! Time: Thursdays, 6:00pm-9:30pm Entry Fee: $18 Player Cap: 7 **Due to high demand for our RPG tables, refunds will not be given for cancellations within 24 hours of the listed start time**
