La Gringa

La Gringa follows the emotional journey of a woman navigating cultural dislocation, family expectations, and the search for self. ETP's immersive staging transforms the theatre into a multi-room domestic space — a cramped apartment, a bustling street corner, a back-alley shop — so you feel as though you've slipped into her neighborhood.

Performed entirely in Spanish, the production uses live, discreet English subtitles projected within the space to ensure non-Spanish speakers follow every nuance.

As the action unfolds, you'll overhear arguments at the stove, witness private remembrances, and sense the push-and-pull of community dynamics. Close proximity to the performers amplifies every gesture and expression, making small domestic details monumental and revealing the emotional stakes behind each line. The play blends naturalistic dialogue with moments of heightened theatricality — music, movement, and atmospheric sound design — to evoke memory, longing, and resilience.

A Drunk Christmas Carol

Your favorite tale of Christmas redemption told like never before. Part scripted, part improvised, and all hilarious, A Drunk Christmas Carol will have you in holiday stitches, both literally and ugly sweater figuratively!

A very professional (and very consenting) actor downs five shots of whiskey, then performs the role of Scrooge in Dickens’ most famous Christmas story. A troupe of professional improvisers try to keep the classic story on the rails while being completely sidetracked by wacky audience suggestions and our famous ā€œWheel of Fateā€ that could change the setting of the tale at any time. Add to that an ugly sweater contest, holiday themed cocktails, gift giveaways, and a 50-50 raffle, you’d be a grinch not to attend this party!

OH what fun it is to ride in a one drunk Christmas Carol!

HEALTH WARNING: We do not condone excessive drinking. Our drinking actor is carefully monitored at all times. Drinking in moderation can be fun. Drinking to excess can ruin your life. We promote healthy drinking.

All ages are welcome, but due to the adult nature and adult themes of the show, we recommend ages 18 and up.

George Orwell’s 1984

When power finds a way to live forever, freedom goes extinct.

Enter a chilling, near-future America where surveillance is total and Big Brother is not a distant symbol but a living, eternal presence. This terrifying, immersive adaptation of George Orwell’s 1984 places you inside the machinery of control as a President-figure consolidates power and immortality. Audience members are silent observers, seated amid the action, at the edge of their seats as liberty unravels.

MORE INFO: George Orwell’s famous novel has never felt so frightening. The Party’s slogans, rituals, and relentless surveillance have been localized to institutions and streets familiar to contemporary audiences. 1984 centers on the chilling ascent of an immortal, authoritarian President-figure who embodies Big Brother — a charismatic, manipulative ruler whose promised permanence tightens the regime’s grip. ETP’s immersive production places audiences alongside government offices, propaganda lounges, communal housing blocks, and interrogation chambers. Nevermind the cameras, microphones, and an ever-present gaze.

As private acts are monitored and public truth is rewritten, characters struggle with loyalty, resistance, and the crushing weight of enforced conformity. Intimate scenes — furtive love, coercive confession, psychological manipulation — unfold within arm’s reach. Large-scale set pieces and crowd-moments convey mass ritual and televised spectacle; sudden blackouts, loudspeaker announcements, and live-feed projections obliterate the boundary between spectator and state. Though surrounded by the world of the play, patrons remain non-participatory witnesses.

Content warnings:

- Political themes, authoritarian ideology, propaganda, and psychological manipulation

- Depictions of surveillance, interrogation, non-graphic violence, simulated sex and torture

- Intense scenes of coercion, emotional distress, and themes of oppression; strong language

- Use of flashing lights, loud noises, simulated surveillance audio, and occasional haze/smoke effects.

Recommended for ages 16+.

The Velvet Gentleman: Inside the Music & Mind of Erik Satie

Step inside the nocturnal, stream-of-consciousness world of Erik Satie—an immersive theatrical concert blending live piano, dense video projections, and dreamlike imagery. Performed by pianist-actor Adam Roper as Erik Satie, the show drifts through memory, mischief, and melancholy with mostly minimal text; music and visuals carry the narrative.

While the piece remains largely impressionistic and associative, select scenes bring Satie into lively, witty conversation with contemporaries Claude Debussy, Pablo Picasso, and Jean Cocteau, and Satie’s one love, Suzanne Valadon—brief, characterful exchanges that reveal friendships, rivalries, and the Parisian avant-garde milieu. These moments deepen the portrait without breaking the show’s meditative flow.

Expect a palette of muted pastels and sepia, archival imagery, slow-motion urban fragments, and recurring motifs (a velvet coat, stopped clocks, handwritten scores). The piano—close-mic’d and intimately recorded—anchors each episode with Satie’s pieces and original pastiches in his spare, haunting style.
