Pacific Philharmonic Concert
Under the direction of Kevin A. Lefohn, the Pacific Philharmonic presents a vibrant program featuring works by Bohemian-born Johann Stamitz and twentieth-century British composers Benjamin Britten and Peter Warlock. Stamitzâs charming Symphony in G Major âMannheimâ showcases the dramatic contrasts and orchestral innovations that helped shape the Classical symphony. Drawing on melodies he composed as a child, Brittenâs spirited Simple Symphony, Op. 4, combines playful energy with lyrical warmth, while Warlockâs colorful and fiery Capriol Suite brings the dances of the Renaissance vividly to life through imaginative harmonies and driving rhythms.
