Quadeca

Revolution Hall1300 Southeast Stark Street

Quadeca makes genre-defiant music that bends experimental hip-hop, neo-psychedelia, alternative R&B, pop, bossa nova, and more to his whims. Over the years, he transitioned from a career in content creation to a more personal artistry. He started out making videos where he replicated the styles of various popular rappers, eventually parlaying this viral online content into attention for his own original music. Quadeca replaced the trends and tropes of commercial rap that made up his earlier work with a sharpened focus on musicianship, melody, and atmospheric songwriting on his 2022 album I Didn't Mean to Haunt You. The critically acclaimed 2024 mixtape Scrapyard continued in this experimental direction, touching on everything from Björk-indebted electronica to shoegaze to emo rap. Quadeca's fourth proper studio album, Vanisher, Horizon Scraper, appeared in 2025.

Kristen Ford and Max Hatt / Edda Glass

Artichoke Community Music2007 Southeast Powell Boulevard

Edda Glass and her long-time collaborator Max Hatt have “forged a unique sound,” says NPR’s Larry Groce. Their alternative musical universe stretches effortlessly from award-winning original material to reinventions ranging from “Wichita Lineman” to “Girl from Ipanema” to “Falling Grace.” Edda’s unmistakable voice and evocative lyrics draw audiences into the immersive textures of Max’s guitar and compositions, creating a cinematic soundscape that resonates like folk, harmonizes like jazz, and grooves like bossa nova.

Ann Powers of NPR Music tags it “Beautiful… #chills” while Nels Cline (Blue Note, Wilco) finds it “subtly poignant, elegantly funky, and haunting without trying to be.” They have been presented by NPR, PBS, NYC’s Lincoln Center, DC’s Kennedy Center, and Wilco's Solid Sound Festival.

Roger Clyne and The Peacemakers

Mississippi Studios & Bar Bar3939 North Mississippi Avenue

“Here’s to life” Fans around the world can be found singing the chorus of the Roger Clyne-penned fan favorite “Mekong” and toasting their glasses in unison to celebrate life through rock-n-roll. But the inspiration for the song dates back to the time Roger went to Taipei, Taiwan, as a college student to teach English during the day and busk with his guitar at night for money.

Today, as Clyne prepares to release his 11th studio album, he continues to transform his life experiences, inspirations, observations and his own muses into timeless music. And whether he’s wearing his Converse high tops, boots or sandals, Clyne’s blend of punk rock, americana, indie-pop and mariachi influences have made him, drummer PH Naffah, guitarist Jim Dalton and bassist Nick Scropos — collectively known as Roger Clyne and The Peacemakers.

Phoenix Folk (Tunes)

🌐via ZoomVirtual Event

Sessions are led by Marina Dodgson (fiddle) and Maurice Condie (guitar). These are open access sessions, so there’s no need to book in advance, you’re welcome to just turn up and join in! We believe great things happen when we play tunes together! People connect with each other and make friends, and we keep our music traditions alive by sharing tunes and passing them on. What’s more, playing tunes can make you feel happy, and if you do it often enough, you’ll notice that you are getting better at playing your instrument too! It turns out that you don’t even have to be in the same place…great things still happen when we play music together, online from the comfort of your own home. Phoenix Folk Ltd exists to promote participation and performance in folk and acoustic music, song and dance across the North East of England. We aim to be a friendly face of folk music, to help keep alive the great traditions of folk music and to encourage talent and personal musical development.

Book Bar: DJ Flor Violenta

Book Bar is a five-day pop-up bar, café and cultural clubhouse in the heart of downtown Portland during Portland Book Festival week, a place to meet before a show, keep the conversation going after a reading or make Book Bar the destination for the evening.

On Friday night, DJ Flor Violenta takes over the decks from 6:00–10:00pm with a vinyl set weaving together tropical cumbia, Latin funk, disco, neo-soul and more.

A Portland-based vinyl DJ, Flor Violenta (they/them) brings together contemporary cumbia with the nostalgic sounds of funk, soul and psych rock, shaped by their Latin heritage and roots in the San Francisco Bay Area. The former host of Freeform Portland’s Vinyl Pleasures Radio has recently brought their crates to Pickathon Music Festival and shared bills with acts including Orquestra Pacifico Tropical and The Sinseers.

Come by for a cocktail, grab a bite, meet fellow festivalgoers and settle in for whatever the night has in store.

Bluegrass and Brews

Tomorrow's Verse ~ Taproom & Bottle Shop4605 Northeast Fremont Street

Every Tuesday, something pretty special happens at Tomorrow's Verse Taproom. Musicians pull up a chair, listeners grab a pint, and for a couple of hours the room turns into the kind of community space that's getting harder and harder to find. No stage, no spotlight, no barriers—just people sharing songs, stories, and a love of live music.

Whether you play, listen, or just enjoy being around good people, Bluegrass and Brews is a place to connect. Discover your new favorite musician, catch up with neighbors, and support a group of local pickers who keep traditional music alive, one tune at a time.

Pull up a chair. Order a pint. Stay awhile. The music's better when the room (or courtyard) is full.

Bobby Vega

Bobby Vega

Tomorrow's Verse | Portland, Oregon

Some of the best nights of music never make the posters.

They're the nights where someone texts a friend, "You should get down here."

Some nights are about who's on the bill.

These aren't.

That's what Bobby Vega is bringing to Tomorrow's Verse

Bobby will be there. That's all we're telling you.

Who else shows up? You'll have to find out the old-fashioned way—by being there.

These aren't showcase gigs or carefully packaged performances. They're community hangs. They're the kind of nights where incredible players call tunes, trade ideas, take chances, and remind everyone why live music still matters. Some names you'll recognize immediately. Others you'll discover for the first time. Every one of them belongs in the room.

No announcements. No lineup drops. No chasing likes.

The only way to find out who's sitting in is to walk through the door.

Portland has always had these pockets where the scene comes alive—not because somebody marketed it, but because people knew it was worth showing up for. Third Thursdays are built in that tradition.

Bring your friends. Grab a drink. Meet some new people.

This is a sliding scale event $5-$20. Kindly pay what you can afford in the tip jar. We also take venmo.

To help preserve the spirit of these gatherings, we ask that there be no audio or video recording and no photography during the performances.

When the time is right, we'll share thoughtfully curated moments from these evenings ourselves.

Thank you for being present and helping make these nights special.

Dump Your Jokes - Open Mic

Every comic who steps up to the microphone has exactly one goal: survive the shredder. After a performer drops their rawest, newest, or riskiest bit, a judgment must be made. With the cheers or jeers, the crowd collectively decide the joke's ultimate fate. If they love it, the comedian keeps it. If it bombs, it goes straight into a heavy-duty paper shredder spinning live on stage, gone from their set forever.

Sign ups are online and mic starts at 5PM and ends 6:30.

Registration opens the day before the show at 12:00 PM, and the official lineup will be posted the following day at 12:00 PM.
