Learning & Tech❯Workshops

Come make your own sculpture as we explore air dry clay.

Ages 5–9

Through guided self-inquiry, journaling, group reflection, and a guided inner child practice, you'll uncover some of the beliefs and patterns you may have learned in order to feel loved, safe, and accepted.

Learn about the City’s Clear and Objective Track Type II tree removal permit regulations effective as of October 1, 2026. This new tree removal permit process only applies to tree removal associated with the construction of one or more new dwelling units or the creation of residential lots. This workshop will explore the relevant code criteria, minimum tree retention requirements, required mitigation and street tree planting, and tree retention deficit fees, and demonstrate how to use the new Tree Inventory spreadsheet template and submit a complete application. This workshop is led by Daphne Cissell, Associate Planner in the Planning & Building Services Department, along with the City’s Contract Arborist, Morgan Holen.

Pre-registration is required and capacity is limited to 40 participants in-person or select Zoom registration for remote access. This workshop is free and open to local arborists, builders, developers, architects, and Lake Oswego residents. Register now!

Our Try the Pottery Wheel class is a great introduction to the world of ceramics, no experience necessary! We’ll walk you through the basics of throwing a pot on the wheel and help you through your first attempts. You’ll get to keep one pot, and have the option to add another for an additional $5. After the class, we’ll trim and glaze it for you with a color of your choosing. Pots will be fired and available for pickup 6 weeks after the class day. Our class size is limited to 6 people, so everyone will be sure to get the one-on-one help they need. </span></p><p style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\" data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\"><span>Here’s a glimpse of the class schedule:</span></p><ul data-rte-list=\"default\"><li><p style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\" data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\"><span>Introductions and teacher demo (30 minutes)</span></p></li><li><p style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\" data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\"><span>Guided throwing instruction (2 hours)</span></p></li><li><p style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\" data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\"><span>Cleanup (30 minutes)</span></p></li></ul><p style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\" data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\"><strong>Ages: </strong>18+ only.</p><p style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\" data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\"><strong>Cancellation/Refund Policy:</strong> Purchases of this class are final sale, no refunds will be given.</p>","variants":[{"id":"a876fb2f-d007-47e0-9c82-3b6591d9a443","sku":"SQ5044260","price":{"currency":"USD","value":"95.00"},"unlimited":false,"qtyInStock":0,"soldOut":true,"scarce":false,"attributes":{}}],"userDefinedVariantOptions":[],"productType":3,"additionalFieldsFormId":"67cfb899ca36fc40aba93da0","additionalFieldsForm":{"id":"67cfb899ca36fc40aba93da0","type":2,"name":"Class attendee(s)","fields":["{\"type\":\"textarea\",\"id\":\"textarea-yui_3_17_2_1_1741666032430_4257\",\"locked\":false,\"title\":\"Attendee name(s) & email(s)\",\"description\":\"What are the name(s) & email address(es) of the attendee(s)?
