About this event

Learn slab-building techniques to create fossil-inspired dinnerware in a ceramics workshop exploring kitchen gestures, food and culture, and experimental approaches to clay. Standard clay and dried ingredients are provided. Participants may purchase other clay bodies from the Chehalem Cultural Arts Center and are encouraged to bring dried ingredients that hold personal meaning. The workshop is led by Pacific Northwest ceramic artist, educator, and curator Adelina Ruvalcaba, whose Fossil Dinnerware preserves food ingredients and the cultural memories connected to cooking. The cost is $150 per workshop. At least four participants must enroll for the workshop to run, and a waitlist is available if the class fills.
