Dementia-Friendly Clark County hosts a Memory Cafe at 10 a.m. on the first Friday of the month at Prairie Tavern, 14925 N.E. Caples Rd., Brush Prairie. Memory Cafe provides a welcoming space for people living with dementia and their caregivers to socialize, enjoy refreshments and participate in activities. NatureScaping Mason Bee Program coordinators Daniel Szumlas and Brigg Franklin will host a Mason Bee Cocoon Cleaning Event from 10 a.m. to noon on Nov. 21 at the CASEE Center located at 11104 N.E. 149th St., Brush Prairie.
Attendees will hear a short talk about mason bees, covering their lifecycle, the flowers and plants they love most and simple stewardship strategies to support the survival of this solitary, gentle pollinator. Guests will then clean their own mason bee houses with guidance from experienced volunteers. Guests can bring mason bee houses from home or simply watch the process.
