Mass-produced imports and direct-sales companies are not part of the lineup. A café serves home-baked cookies and other treats in take-home packs, and lunch is available each day. Throughout the show, donations of warm clothing, school supplies, and books are collected to benefit the Community Transitional School, which supports PreK through 8th grade students experiencing homelessness or hardship. Young learners in grades PreK through 2 can step into the role of paleontologists, digging for fossils and learning how to piece together a complete dinosaur from a few fragments. The program explores dinosaur adaptations, fossil evidence, how fossils form, and paleontology. A signed waiver is required for all attendees to enter the Maker Lab.
