The Little Town That Could - Documentary Screening

The community is invited to a screening and panel discussion of the documentary "The Little Town That Could."
About the Little Town That Could:
Ordinary people are building an emissions-free future in the Hudson Valley community of Croton-on-Hudson, NY; one heat pump, solar installation, electric school bus — and much more — at a time. Croton has been recognized as New York State’s #1 Clean Energy Community. Croton100, a climate group, celebrates their little town’s decarbonizing momentum with a series of beautifully crafted quilts depicting sustainability actions by government, businesses, public facilities and households. From Emmy-winning, Academy Award–nominated filmmakers Susan Todd and Andrew Young (Backyard Wilderness, Netflix; Lives in Hazard, NBC).

Microplastics in Garden Soil

Led by Anna Perry, this talk explores what microplastics are and what they could mean for gardens. While these tiny particles are found nearly everywhere, the effects on garden soils and garden ecology are still not well understood. The presentation shares the current picture of plastics in soil, where they originate, and how they may influence soils, plants, and the many forms of life that dwell in the soil.
