JT's Back Porch Sessions

Leisure Public House8002 North Lombard Street

JT and the Mudbugs are getting together for three Sunday afternoons at Leisure Public House as they prepare to record a new batch of songs later this year. And the audience gets a say.

Come listen, respond, and help JT and the Mudbugs decide which five or six songs should make the recording.

The core band features JT on guitar and vocals, Frankie Hernandez on drums, Ray Man on bass, and Andy Emmert on fiddle, with a different special guest joining the band each Sunday.

November 8: special guest TBA
November 15: featuring Pacific Northwest mandolin legend Spud Siegel
November 22: special guest TBA

Suggested cover: $10. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Come be part of the process and help make the record.

Heaven & Earth: The Sacred & Secular Music of Felix Mendelssohn

Experience the music of Felix Mendelssohn in a program that explores the many facets of his remarkable choral compositions. Heaven & Earth: The Sacred & Secular Music of Felix Mendelssohn brings together the sacred and the secular, the intimate and the exuberant, in an all-Mendelssohn concert performed by Multnomah Women’s Chorus. The program will contain some familiar works such as selections from Elijah and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as well as some of his music that is heard far less often, including Three Motets for Treble Choir and Organ. From radiant sacred settings to spirited and lyrical secular works, the program reveals the extraordinary variety, craftsmanship, and expressive warmth of Mendelssohn’s choral writing. Come discover one of the Romantic era’s most gifted composers, and journey with us between Heaven & Earth.
