This workshop is intended for participants who have taken the introductory course, Fly fishing: Learn the basics with fisheries biologist and educator Anna Le. In this course, we’ll learn about reading water to find fish, examining macroinvertebrates up close, knot tying, and instruction in land-based and water-based casting and retrieving. Personalized instructions will focus on using fly fishing as a tool and conversation starter to better understand freshwater aquatic ecosystems by connecting with streams, lakes, rivers, fish, and insects, and on how to better conserve these places as anglers and stewards. Materials provided.
Note: no fishing or in-water activities will occur during this workshop.
