JERRY JOSEPH & THE JACKMORMONS with Lordymama

Doors: 7:00pm Show: 8:00pm Ages: 21+ Jerry Joseph is a musician who lives in Portland Oregon, but he’s often gone. He’s been inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame but is still rather obscure to a lot of people. He plays well over 150 shows a year in the usual places. Across America. Sometimes in Europe, Mexico, and Central America. Then there’s these other places he plays—Lebanon, Israel, Kurdish Iraq, India, and Afghanistan. All over the Middle East, often in war zones and refugee camps. Jerry, to me is a cult figure who could, in some alternate reality, have easily been one of the biggest stars in the world. One of the greatest live performers I have ever seen and long one of my favorite songwriters. I can’t hear the chorus of San Acacia without picturing Jerry singing it in front of 100,000 screaming fans, in a soccer stadium in Brazil. In the pouring rain. With everyone singing along. ACTORS HALLOWS THE DISCUSSION Dj Skully 7pm door : 8pm show 21+ no minors - nope “Vancouver’s brilliant post-punk and new-wave quartet ACTORS continue their flair for sonic cinematics in the video for their latest track ‘Face Meets Glass’... The atmosphere quivers with singer Jason Corbett’s crooning reverb augmented by shivering guitars and stark synths.” — POST-PUNK.COM “Sounds like neon-lit black leather...” — BrooklynVegan “ACTORS have zeroed in on their myriad strengths and know exactly how to showcase them to the world, in a concise, enjoyable and infectious LP. It’s a hell of a debut album, and one we’re happy to recommend.” — I DIE: YOU DIE

THE LIMIÑANAS with Native Sun

Star Theater Presents: The Liminanas Doors: 8:00pm Show: 9:00pm Ages: 21+ ----- Hailing from a small town in the South of France, Lionel and Marie Limiñana aka The Limiñanas reinvent the 1960s French yéyé heritage by fusing it with modern rock. Their unique style blends the rebellious spirit and aesthetic of the Gainsbourg and Bardot era with contemporary garage and psychedelic sounds. Singing in French & English and collaborating with a diverse array of artists, The Limiñanas have a unique ability to distill the cachet of a nostalgic, highly cinematic era while revisiting it through a modern lens.
