Sound Bath Experience on the Farm

ChamBurn Farm LLC20925 S Nursery Ln

As autumn settles more deeply into the land, join a cozy evening at ChamBurn Farm in Oregon City, just 20 minutes south of Portland. Begin with a short tour of the beautifully designed farm, then warm up with hot cider and a seasonal snack provided by chef Jim of ChamBurn Farm.

Under a large covered outdoor patio complete with a fire burning in the fireplace, Angela of Breathe Yoga will open the evening's practice with a grounding, inviting you to settle into your body, connect with the earth beneath you, and arrive fully in the moment. Then, Gabrielle of Hearthsounds Sound Healing will guide you into a 75-minute immersive sound bath. Singing bowls, gong, chimes, and other instruments will surround you in layers of sound and vibration, blending with the natural sounds of the farm: the crackle of the fire, the rustling of the evening air, and the occasional call of an animal.

November invites one to slow down. The harvest has been gathered, the landscape is changing, and nature is gradually becoming quieter. This evening is an opportunity to follow that rhythm, settle into stillness, and simply receive.

Giant Collaborative Neurographic Art

Church of Art1801 Northwest Upshur Street

Church of Art's collaborative neurographics is a mindfulness-based creative activity that provides therapeutic relaxation through intuitive mark-making on a grand scale. For this mindfulness-based collaborative art activity, Church of Art will cover a long row of tables with a roll of paper and acrylic paint pens in a variety of sizes and colors. Participants will move freely around the table, filling the paper with sweeping, colorful doodles to the sounds of calming music. The giant scale allows for whole-arm movements, which signal brains to move out of fight-or-flight mode and into a state of mental relaxation and improved focus. The collaborative aspect of this workshop teaches one to let go of perfection and expectation through shared creative exploration, while working large encourages greater freedom of expression.

Neurographic art is a relatively new form of focused, intentional mark-making that uses curved, bold lines, vibrant colors and calming patterns. Physician and neurographics practitioner Ruben Halperin, M.D., will be the guide, co-facilitating this workshop with artist and Church of Art founder, Erika Halperin.

Immerse yourself in this beneficial form of meditative doodling and experience the mood-boosting effect of creativity coupled with community gathering.

Using paper and acrylic markers. All materials and supplies are provided by the studio.

Tickets Include:

  • 2 hours of guided creative exploration in a supportive, friendly environment with all supplies included.

Embodied Insight: Psychology & Yogic Philosophy in Practice

Embodied Insight: Psychology & Yogic Philosophy in Practice with Giovanna Cafaro A monthly 2 hour offering blending yogic philosophy, mental health psychology, and movement through an experiential practice centered around a new theme each month. November Theme : Compassion: Meeting yourself with kindness Sign Up Sunday, November 22, 2026 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM Sliding Scale: $15-$40 View Full Detail This 2 hour offering integrates yogic philosophy and mental health psychology into a grounded, experiential practice. Each session begins with a short talk and/ or journal prompts exploring themes each month related to self-understanding, relationships, and the human experience, followed by guided movement to embody these ideas, and closes with space for reflection and integration. The intention is to support insight, connection, and a more compassionate relationship with yourself. What to Expect Each session follows a consistent arc while exploring a new monthly theme: Opening grounding practice A short dharma talk integrating principles of psychology and yogic philosophy Optional journal prompts with guided discussion and reflection An intentional movement practice designed to embody the theme Breathwork and/or meditation Time for integration and closing reflection The emphasis is on creating an experience that is both intellectually engaging and personally meaningful, offering participants the opportunity to connect insight with embodied practice. Key Takeaways Participants will leave with: A deeper understanding of themselves through both psychological and yogic perspectives. Practical and applicable takeaways to integrate into daily living. Embodied practices that support nervous system regulation, resilience, and self-compassion. Reflection prompts and themes to continue exploring beyond class. A greater sense of connection to themselves and to a supportive community of practice. No prior experience with yoga philosophy or psychology is necessary. Instructor Giovanna (she/her) believes yoga is an invitation to connect to self by embodying curiosity, compassion, and presence. She views yoga practice as a lifelong exploration of what it means to be human: navigating change, embracing uncertainty, finding meaning, and cultivating a more authentic relationship to ourselves, others, and the world around us. She first discovered yoga in 2010 while living in New York City. Yoga became a space that offered a sense of grounding amidst the constant movement of city life. After moving to Portland in 2016, yoga became an anchor through transition and a pathway to community. Over the years, her practice has expanded beyond asana into meditation, breathwork, philosophy, mantra, and self-inquiry. Embodying yogic practice in this way continues to shape both her life and the way she shares yoga with others. Giovanna has completed a 300-hour trauma-informed yoga teacher training and is currently earning her master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling. Her guiding is deeply influenced by both yogic philosophy and existential psychology, and she loves exploring the places where these traditions naturally intersect. Each class is thoughtfully woven around a theme inspired by yoga philosophy, anatomy, and the shared human experience. You can expect authenticity, intentional movement, moments of reflection, a thoughtful soundtrack, humor, and an open heart from Giovanna. Her hope is that students leave class feeling a little more grounded, a little more connected, and with a deeper trust in their own inner wisdom. She is grateful to all her teachers and guides: Audra Carmine, Manorama, Christina Sell, Nancy Nomellini, and Chauna Bryant for all their incredible and deep wisdom. One Nation

Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education724 Northwest Davis Street

One Nation brings together contemporary artists who explore the ideals and contradictions embedded in the American promise. Drawing on the national motto E Pluribus Unum — “Out of Many, One” — the exhibition reflects on how a diverse society strives toward unity while confronting social, political, and cultural divisions.

Across painting, photography, sculpture, textile, and mixed media, the artists consider themes central to American civic life: immigration and belonging, protest and dissent, labor and economic justice, religious freedom, racial inequality, and the enduring power of democratic ideals.

Personal histories and collective memory intersect throughout the exhibition. Portraits of leaders and everyday citizens appear alongside symbolic images of journeys, borders, and shared responsibility. Together, these works ask viewers to consider not only what unites Americans, but also what challenges the nation’s commitment to liberty and justice, and invites reflection on the role individuals and communities play in shaping the country’s future.

Tea Ceremony Workshop: Learn the Role of the Guest with Jan Waldmann

Portland Japanese Garden’s Tea Ceremony Workshop offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the traditional practice of Chanoyu, or the Way of Tea. Experience the art of tranquility, mindfulness, and omotenashi, whole-hearted hospitality.

It is not an exaggeration to say that through tea, one can understand much of Japanese culture. Tea’s influence can be found in many of the nation’s most beloved artforms, including arranging flowers, calligraphy, incense, ceramics and lacquerware. Japanese gardens are also deeply intertwined with tea ceremony. The four principles of tea, wa (harmony), kei (respect), sei (purity), and jaku (tranquility), are explored by the gardeners of Portland Japanese Garden in their work every day.

Guided by skilled instructor Jan Waldmann, Sosui, the focus of this workshop is to learn to be a guest in the tea ceremony, an important aspect to this historic tradition. Participants will learn the proper etiquette for attending a tea ceremony, including how to receive and consume sweets and matcha, and most importantly, the reasons behind each of the steps. Additionally, you will gain insight into what it entails to be a host— understanding the occasion and seasonality, attention to aesthetics, careful preparation, and the thoughtful gestures made toward the guests.

Participants will first attend a presentation of tea ceremony in our Cathy Rudd Cultural Corner alongside visitors to the Garden before they are taken into their exclusive workshop in the Yanai Classroom.

Participants will first attend a presentation of tea ceremony in our Cathy Rudd Cultural Corner alongside visitors to the Garden (2:00-2:30pm) before they are taken into their exclusive workshop in the Yanai Family Classroom (2:45-4:15pm).

No previous experience is needed. Students will sit in a chair at a table, not kneeling on a tatami mat.

Urasenke Konnichian of Kyoto is one of the major establishments within Japan that has preserved the tradition of Chado or the Way of Tea.  From the first Urasenke generation, Sen no Rikyu (1522-91) to the current headmaster Zabosai Genmoku Soshitsu XVI (b.1956 -), the Sen family lineage has devoted great effort to fostering the philosophy of Tea through the simple words of Wa – Harmony, Kei -Repect, Sei – Purity & Jaku – Tranquility. Over the years Urasenke has established connections in over 21 cities worldwide.

Transformation in Nature with Clara-Julia Peru

We invite you to join our transformation in nature retreat to slow down from your daily life, capture moments in nature, reflect and resonate with the seasonal changes that surround us.

Participants will begin with self-reflective prompts before embarking on a slow, guided walk, where they will be invited to observe and capture with a camera (or cell phone) how the late autumn garden mirrors the landscapes of transformation, grief and transition.

The seasonal landscape itself becomes a teacher: the architectural presence of conifers standing among bare deciduous trees, the rich layers of fallen leaves returning to the soil, beavers preparing for winter, eagles tending their nests, seed pods, mosses, textures, changing light, and the quiet beauty that emerges when life appears stripped down to its essence.

Through mindful photographs, participants will gather visual "fragments" before coming together in a circle for creative reflection, gentle conversation, and complementary herbal teas. The intention is to cultivate presence, symbolism, and a compassionate way of witnessing both nature and ourselves.

Bring comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate layers, drinking water, optional snack, camera or cell phone. If using a cell phone camera, be sure that the sound is off.

Clara-Julia Peru is an artist, poet and nature advocate. She is a grief informed art and nature guide with an abundance of specialized training in grief support and expression. Learn more about Clara-Julia’s work here.

Join a welcoming community of adults 60+ for a six-week journey of reflection, conversation, and personal growth. Together, we’ll explore this stage of life with resilience, purpose, and wisdom.

Through guided conversations, mindfulness practices, journaling, and shared experiences, you’ll gain practical tools and fresh perspectives for navigating life’s transitions. 2nd Saturday JourneyDance

Move your body and dance your heart open. Every 2nd Saturday, gather to dance in community, free of guilt and shame and strut into your most glittering manifestations — shining your light for all, but most importantly for yourself.

This is a sacred space to remember the wisdom of your body and the joy of simply being alive. Through intuitive movement, breath, rhythm, and a touch of wild magic, invite the body to guide, release, and reveal. Think of it as soul play—a chance to shake loose what’s stuck, expand your emotional capacity, and come home to yourself in the most delicious way. There's no right or wrong here, just movement that feels true. One moment you might be grounding into deep stillness, the next you're spinning like a kid high on life. Come ready to sweat, laugh, maybe cry (the good kind), and leave with a deeper connection to your body, your spirit, and the present moment. Your body is your temple—let’s throw a little dance party in it.

You’ll leave feeling:

  • Lighter in your body and clearer in your mind
  • Reconnected to your inner wisdom and intuition
  • Emotionally spacious, grounded, and more at ease
  • Juicy, joyful, and deliciously alive
  • Empowered to take up space and move through life with more freedom

Bring your own water bottle and a blanket or knee pads for cushion when invited to be on the floor. Dress so that you can move comfortably without restriction. Bring and journal and a pen to record anything that comes up when dancing. Consider Grippy socks for colder days.

** Veils, blankets and other yoga props are available in the studio.

** JourneyDance can be done from any position and with assistive devices. Building is ADA accessible; the dance space and bathroom are up a low step.

Intro To The Myth of Tea

Introduction to the 5 major tea types and ceremonial tea.
Join us for an introduction to the five major types of tea; green, white, oolong, black, and dark tea. Together we will explore the origins of Camellia sinensis, trace its history and cultural roots, and experience the art of gongfu ceremonial tea service. This class is an invitation to step into the magic, wonder, and devotion that tea inspires, while learning how its many expressions continue to connect us to the natural world and our human nature.

This gathering is offered with a suggested contribution of $35. In the spirit of inclusivity and balance, you are welcome to offer what feels right for you, whether that is $35, $25, or more if you have the means. Contributions above the suggested amount help make this experience accessible to those with financial need and sustain the ongoing care and energy poured into holding spaces like this. Every offering, whether financial or energetic, affirms the value of community supported education.

We also acknowledge the systemic barriers that have long limited access for BIPOC communities. To honor this, a $15 option is available for BIPOC participants who would benefit from it. This is one way we commit to equity, ensuring that diversity is not only welcomed but integral to the richness of the experience.

If the listed prices are still a barrier, please reach out directly. I am more than willing to work with you to ensure that tea remains within reach for all who feel called to share in it.

All are welcome here. You are invited to arrive exactly as you are and take part in a space rooted in openness, care, and community, a living space where each presence is honored and where we grow together through the deep, transformative beauty of tea.

To help us hold a mindful and welcoming space, we ask participants to be considerate of sensory sensitivities by avoiding strong fragrances. This is a space of gentle awareness, where we honor our own needs as well as those of others. By showing up with openness, care, and respect for each other’s boundaries, we create a collective meditative atmosphere where, tea, and community belonging can flourish.

In the spirit of reciprocity and uplifting community together, five dollars from each participant will be donated to Q Center, a nonprofit that supports LGBTQ2SIA+ communities through advocacy, resources, and safe spaces, embodying tea’s spirit of connection, reflection, healing, and belonging.

This class is led by D’Guar (they/them), a trans person of color, tea guide, and community builder based in Portland, Oregon. D’Guar has devoted their path to exploring the spirit of Camellia sinensis through mindful practice, storytelling, and connection. Through their project Water Fairy Tea, they create spaces where tea becomes a bridge between nature, presence, and belonging. Their offerings weave education with devotion, inviting participants to meet tea not only as a beverage, but as a living companion in self discovery and community care with nature and the world around.

We acknowledge that this work takes place on the traditional lands of the Multnomah, Clackamas, Chinook, Kathlamet, Tualatin, Kalapuya, Molalla, and many other Indigenous ancestors and communities. We honor their enduring presence, care, and wisdom, and offer gratitude to the land and to the people who have tended it since time immemorial.

Past Life Regression

Discover who you were in a past life! Join Davina Kotulski for a group past life regression session.

Step Into the Mystery of Your Soul’s Journey

Bring your journal, a yoga mat, and an eye cover—and join us for a powerful Past Life Regression Meditation guided by spiritual teacher and author Davina Kotulski.

In this immersive experience, you'll be gently led into a deep state of relaxation, where you'll journey back in time to uncover one of your past lives. Along the way, you'll connect with your spirit guide to gain insight into the lessons from that lifetime—and discover how they relate to the soul work you're here to do in this one.

Davina was personally trained by renowned past-life regression expert Dr. Brian Weiss at the Weiss Institute and has facilitated transformative regressions for hundreds of people.

🌟 FAQ

Is this a psychic reading? No. Davina won’t tell you who you were in a past life—you’ll discover that yourself. She serves as a guide, helping you access your own subconscious memories through a gentle, structured meditation process.

Will I go unconscious? Not at all. You’ll be in a relaxed, yet alert state—similar to a light meditation. You’ll be aware of your surroundings and able to recall your experience. Davina will be guiding you the entire time, and you’ll even have opportunities to share during the session.

Is this "real"? Whether experienced as memory, metaphor, or archetype, past life regression can reveal powerful insights into your current life. Many participants find the process deeply healing, clarifying, and empowering.

Come with an open heart and a curious mind—and leave with a deeper connection to your soul’s timeless wisdom.
